    2000
calendar  - 14 vintage 8 1/2 by 11" full page black and white photos of Long Island Rail Road
    LIRR
scenes, cars and locomotives from ~ 1900 to 1980s.  Plus many noteworthy historical dates shown.
    Excellent clean crisp condition.
    Text on photos reads:
The freight locomotive of choice by the LIRR during the years of Pennsylvania Railroad control was the H10s Consolidation. Purchased second hand from the Pennsy, the LIRR rostered 19 of the class and used them systemwide for freight service. Generally handling the Port Jefferson run. No. 113 cases into Hicksville station. Interestingly, the Port Jefferson
Branch freight was one of the last to dieselize, as it would have taken two new diesels to replace one steamer. - Collection of the Railroad Museum of Long Island
    JAWS
In 1986, the LIRR retired snowplow W-83, known more affectionately in her later years as "Jaws," for reasons made obvious by this photo. It was acquired by Project 39, a predecessor group to the museum. Pictured here on its journey to Riverhead after its acquisition, the plow now resides outside of the museum's facility in Greenport.
